Richard H. Ketelsen, 86, of Milan, passed away Monday September 22, 2014 at his home.

Private family services will be held, with burial taking place at Rock Island National Cemetery, with Military Honors by American Legion 569. Memorials may be made to the Mission House.

Richard was born on April 22, 1928 in Clinton, IA, the son of Leo and Catherine (Eagan) Ketelsen.

Mr. Ketelsen served in the United States Navy for 30 years before retiring December 1, 1981, at the rank of Chief Lithographer. During his Naval career he served in Korea and Vietnam.

Richard was a member of Milan American Legion and the Friends Circle Club. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.

Richard will be remembered by his brother Robert Ketelsen, Laguna, NM; his best friend Randy Garrett, Milan; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Elizabeth "Betty" Michalski; and his two brothers Leo Ketelsen Jr. and James Ketelsen.
