Richard G. Moritz Sr., 83, of Milan passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday at First Church of the Nazarene, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial with military honors will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made in care of First Church of the Nazarene.

Richard was born on February 13, 1939, a son of George and Opal (Bayness) Moritz. He married Sharon M. Reding on May 12,1961 and she preceded him in death on October 1, 2007. He went on to marry Linda Twitty on April 4, 2008. Richard worked as an inspector and repairman at Farmall for many years, finally retiring from Navistar in 1993.

Richard's hobbies included riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, working on old hot rods, and he was a big Nascar fan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda; children, Richard "Rich" (Reya) Moritz and Randy (Lisa) Moritz; grandchildren, Joseph, Kaylie, Seth, Zach, and Michael; great-grandson, Ivan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon; son, Joe Dale Moritz; and sister, Phyllis Kelley.
