Richard A. Mosenfelder, 72, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday July 3, 2021 at his home.

Private family services will be held at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. A public celebration of life will be held at 3:00pm Saturday July 24, 2021 at Kavanaugh's Hilltop Bar & Grill, 1228 30th St, Rock Island, IL 61201. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family.

Richard was born on January 12, 1949 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of William "Bill" and Roseann (Larson) Mosenfelder. He married Geri Wendland on January 4, 1997 in Rock Island.

Mr. Mosenfelder was a graduate of Rock Island High School, later attending Western Illinois and the University of Illinois. He had been employed in sales all his career starting at William Mosenfelder & Sons Store.

Richard had a heart of gold and loved more than anything his family. He enjoyed baseball, golfing and was an avid Atlanta Braves and University of Illinois fan. He had coached Rock Island Babe Ruth Baseball for over 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Geri; son, Joe (Lynnann) Cook; granddaughter, Anni; siblings, Tom (Debbie) Mosenfelder, Jerry (Renee) Mosenfelder, Danny Mosenfelder, Jeffrey (Pam) Mosenfelder, Mindy (Greg) Bateman and Steven Mosenfelder; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Leanne Mosenfelder.
