Richard "Rick" N. Tischer, 69, of Rock Island, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on January 13, 2024, at his home from 2-5pm. Memorials may be made to the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Rick was born on February 10, 1954, in Geneseo, a son of Norman and Dorothy (Bergren) Tischer. He married Tina Simmons on July 21, 2017, in Moline. Rick worked as a regional manager for USF Dugan Truck Lines. He had also worked for Churchill Truck Lines and later Walmart, retiring in 2018. Rick had a variety of interests including fishing, painting, reading, cooking, and collecting.  He had an appreciation and an eye for unique artwork.  He enjoyed designing and creating things for people he loved.  Above all, Rick enjoyed spending time talking, laughing, and lovingly teasing his wife, kids, and grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Tina; children, Joe Tischer, Davenport, Katie (Pat) Burbridge, Rock Island, Mike Tischer, Davenport; stepchildren, Kaylynn Simmons, Rock Island, Lynsey (Cody) Spriet, Sherrard, and Angie Simmons, Moline; eight grandchildren; siblings, Bob Smith, Michigan; Tom (Gail) Smith, Georgia, and Maggie (Bill) Lorentzen, Georgia.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patty Maynard; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Smith.
