Obituary

Richard W. Quigg, 71, of Milan, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island.  Funeral services for Richard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Wheelan – Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 4 th Ave. E., Milan.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made in care of the Milan Community Center.

Dick was born on May 17, 1947 in Moline, a son of Richard E. and Evelyn (Schmitz) Quigg.  He attended Northern Illinois University where he was a percussionist in the marching band, and married Kay McCullough on September 16, 1972.  Two daughters were born to their union.

Dick worked for 15 years as the General Manager of McCullough's Department Store in Milan, followed by many years at Chip King and as a freelance wedding videographer.  Later, he worked as the Rural Township Assessor.

Dick enjoyed spending time with family, golfing and flying, through his private pilot license. He was a Past President of the Milan Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Milan Rotary & the Tri-City Cinema Club.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kimberly (Adam) Evec, South Carolina and Amy (Ryan) Legue, Oakwood Hills, IL; grandchildren, Carter Evec, Aubrie Evec, Kailyn Brownback and Madison Legue; along with many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
