Richard A. "Rick" Grossell, 62, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday February 8, 2015 at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehab, Rock Island.
A memorial vistation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, with a memorial service following at 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Richard was born May 6, 1952 in Rock Island, a son of Armin J. and Dolores "Laurie" Hoss Grossell. He graduated from Rock Island High School, where he was a member of the diving team, and then attended Blackhawk College.
He was employed at the former Eagles Warehouse in Milan, and later at Sant Amour's Cafe Expresso, Rock Island.
Rick enjoyed playing cards, crafts, and collecting coins and stamps. Some of his favorite times were when he was with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Barry Nord, Wylie, TX; grandchildren, Emma and Dylan Nord; brother and sisters (and their spouses), Dr. Michael J. (Colleen) Grossell, Rutherfordton, N.C., Katherine A. (John) Freeman, Rock Island, Suzanne M. Butler, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mary A. (Rod) Carey, Rock Island, Jeanne M. Grossell, Rock Island, Elizabeth A. (Randy) Heggen, Rock Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia L. Grossell, and brother, Robert A. Grossell.
