Richard W. Sheese, 83, of Moline, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity, R.I. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 4th Ave E in Milan. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will take place in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
Richard was born on September 18, 1932 in Eliza Township, Mercer Co., Illinois a son of Lloyd and Lucille Summers Sheese. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Puerto Rico during the Korean War Era. Richard married Barbara Sims who preceded him in death. He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for over 28 years as an Offset Platemaker. He also worked at the Brown Shell Station on the corner of 30th St. and 18th. Ave. in Rock Island for over 20 years. Richard was a member of the Eureka #68 Masonic Lodge in Milan and a member of the Scottish Rite. He also belonged to the Viking Club and the Milan American Legion Post #569. Richard greatly enjoyed spending time with his family. One of his favorite activities was going for a Coke at McDonalds with his brother and his friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his children; Vicki (Mike) Koster, Wayne (Maggie) Sheese and Dean (Lisa) Sheese, all of Milan; grandchildren, Janae Koster, Katie Koster and Kelsey (Chad) York, all of Milan; step grandchildren, Jack (Kameron)Schneider, Woodstock, IL, Eric (Quan) Schneider, Glen Allen, VA; great grandchildren, Cole York and Eleanor Schneider; a brother, Russell Sheese, Moline and a sister, LaVonne Rannow, Mineral, IL.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; parents and a half brother, Walter "Bud" Davison
