Richard Daniel Snyder, 85, Milan, IL passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at UnityPoint-Trinity, Rock Island. There will be a graveside service with military honors at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend can meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan at 1:30 PM to follow in procession.

Richard was born on May 30, 1937 to John and Martha (DeBrucker) Snyder. After graduating St. Mary's High School, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 until being honorably discharged in 1958.

Richard married Betty Walker on December 16, 1966, in Silvis. The couple made their home in Silvis and East Moline.

Richard worked in packaging at Oscar Meyer until his retirement.

He was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodges, East End Bolders Club, the American Legion and the Marine Corps League. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors.

He is survived by his brother, Roger Snyder; stepchildren, Patsy and her husband, Larry LaFerrara, Moline, Richard Cameron, Milan; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; two brothers; and stepson, Michael Cameron.
