Rick A. Melton, 58, of Moline, passed away January 18, 2017 at his home.  Visitation will be Monday from 4-6 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, with a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made in care of the University of Wisconsin Foundation, Transplant Nephrology Research Fund at Box 78807 Milwaukee, WI  53278-0807

Rick was born on June 26, 1958, the son of Darrell and Joyce Eberhardt Melton.  He married Carol Talik on June 2, 1979.  They were married for 21 years.

Rick was the owner and operator of Melton Tree Service. He was an avid hunter with his favorites being duck and goose hunting and bow hunting deer.  He was a member of Waterfowl USA. Many relatives and friends have shared those adventures, but especially Rick's Uncle Jay Melton.

Rick is survived by his children, Scott and Holly Melton, both of Moline; and sisters Michelle Driver and Lisa Melton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
