Ricky D. Schulz, 70, of Coal Valley, Il died unexpectedly at his home Sunday Nov 28, 2021. Ricky was born Nov. 24th 1951 to Lyle and Mary Lou Schulz (nee Werle) in Moorhead, MN. Ricky is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pamela J Schulz (nee Stockdill) and son, Ry Strider Schulz of Coal Valley, IL. Ricky served in the USMC 6 years from 1970-1976. He retired from Trinity Medical Center after 32 years. Ricky lived life large creating lasting memories to all who spent time with him. His presence on this Earth with be sorely missed by all who knew him. Ricky was an active man who enjoyed spending summers at their ND Lake home with wife Pam. He loved following the many athletic adventures his sons engaged in over the years Lasting friendships were made with the amazing loving "family" of the running group Hash. House Harriers. He also enjoyed riding bike, fishing with Brother in Law Tim and had a way with dogs like non other. He enjoyed helping anyone who needed it and was a Fix-it kind of guy who loved a do it yourself challenge. Ricky was proceeded in death by a son, Flynn Schulz, father, Lyle and mother, Mary Lou Schulz, parents in law, Floyd and Leatrice Stockdill, sister in law, Shelly Mautz. Ricky is survived by his wife and son, brother, Rodney Schulz, sisters, Lynn Gittelstad, Susan Austin and Gail Engelbretson, numerous sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Private inurnment services for Mr. Schulz will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. A public celebration of Ricky's life will be on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Cool Beanz Coffee House, 512-24th St, Rock Island, Il from 4:00 to 9:00 P.M. Memorials can be made to the family for a memorial fund that will be established at a later date.
