Rita K. Young, 82, of Rock Island passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at UP Trinity, Rock Island.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Friday, December 19, 2025 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island.  Visitation will be from 4 – 6pm on Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island.   Burial will be at Elgin Cemetery, Mystic, IA. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.

Rita was born on January 17, 1943 in Centerville, IA, the daughter of George E. and Anna (Kuchan) Young. She retired as an Administrator Assistant from Royal Neighbors of America after 33 years.

Rita was a member of St. Pius X Church and enjoyed bowling, reading and gardening.

Those left to cherish Rita's memory include her sister, Martha R. Young, Rock Island; best friend, Mickey Curtis, Rock Island; niece, Anne McAvinn and nephew, Michael Collins.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Ann Collins.
