Robert "Bob" D. Babers, 72, of Rock Island, passed away, Sunday October 22, 2023, at River Crossing of Moline.

A memorial service will be held at Noon on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. A repass will be held following services at Olivet Baptist Church located at 1115 21st Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Bob Babers was born September 2, 1951, in Chicago, IL, to Robert and Emmerlee (Gandy) Babers. He married Beverly Hickman on March 2, 1992, in Rock Island. Bob enjoyed playing spades, shooting pool, and hanging with the guys. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Beverly; children, Crystal (Jamie) Montgomery, Christopher Babers; step-daughter, Tarica Gay; grandchildren, Jordan and Jelani Montgomery, Amari, Chris, Jeramiah, and Malcom Babers; step-grandchildren, Ashlie, Aquiaya, and Jaydah; sister, Bernadine Plummer; aunts, Castella Anderson, and Erma Jean Babers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
