Robert L. Baenziger, 69, of Davenport, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at UPH - Trinity, Rock Island.  Private family services will be held Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made in care of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Robert was born on August 17, 1947 in Davenport, the son of Alfred and Hazel Eckstein Baenziger.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and married Linda Hitchcock in September of 1966 in Alexandria, VA.  Robert was an insulator and a member of Local 81, he retired in 2002.  Robert greatly enjoyed golfing, playing guitar, fishing, and shopping for treasures on ebay.  Robert was a very caring and generous man who was always looking to help those who were less fortunate.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda; children, Robert Baenziger, Jr., Tami (Chris) Baenziger - Jamruk, Jeff (Emily) Baenziger, Brigitte (Mike) Abbey, Ulrich Baenziger; grandchildren, Quinton and Emily Baenziger, Gabrielle, Ashleigh and Lauren Jamruk, Lindsey and Nick Schultz, Bella Baenziger and Presley Abbey; a sister, Nancy (Jerry) Fithian and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pat Berry.
