Robert Lee Beckmann, 44, of Rock Island, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Mar. 9, 2017 at his home.

Please join family and friends for a celebration of his life on Monday, Mar. 13,  from 3 to 8 at Poor Boy's Pizza, 4121 18 Ave., Rock Island.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.

Robert was born Aug. 1, 1972 in Davenport, a son of Kenneth R. Beckmann and Janet M. Welsh Beckmann.

He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and Bettendorf High School.  Rob was a welder by trade.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and spending time with his family.

Rob is survived by his mother and stepfather, Janet M. Auker and Kenneth D. Auker, Rock Island; brother, Matthew Beckmann, Rock Island; sister, Kathleen Beckmann, Waco, Tex.; sons, Xavier Holt and Deonte Northern; and granddaughters, Amora, Harper, Aleana and Airabella.  He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Beckmann; sister, Kelly Beckmann McQuate; aunt, Judith Welsh; grandparents, Jack and Joyce Welsh and Lois and Mort Beckmann; and nephew,  John D. Nuner.
