It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert H. Cawley, aged 85, of Milan, who passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Bob will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to his family and community.

A graveside service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Hebrew Cemetery in Rock Island. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory and share in the comfort of one another's presence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities or a charity of your choice.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Born on February 25, 1940, in Moline, Illinois, Bob was the cherished son of the late Warren and Ethel Stone Cawley. He united in marriage with Kristine Lehman on June 5, 1972, in Bettendorf, Iowa, beginning a partnership filled with love and companionship.

Bob dedicated 43 years of his life to working as a forklift driver at Alcoa, now known as Arconic, where he also served three years as the Union President, advocating on behalf of his fellow workers with great passion and integrity.

A member of the Congregation Beth Israel at the Tri-City Jewish Center, Bob found joy in his faith and community. In his leisure time, he enjoyed walking, traveling, and connecting with others through his HAM radio.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kristine Cawley of Milan; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lori Cawley of Minnesota; his granddaughter, Jenny; and several great-grandchildren, who will forever hold his memory dear. He was preceded in death by his parents and his cherished son, Michael Cawley.
