Robert J. Collins, 85, of Geneseo, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Advent Hospital in Serling, Florida.

Robert wished to be cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life in the spring.

Robert was born in Dordo, Alabama, in August of 1939. From there he moved to Bettendorf, Iowa when he was 10. He joined the United States Marines at the age of 17, serving 4 years. Once discharge from the Marines, Robert went to work at Oscar Mayer for 15 years. He later decided he wanted to be a farmer. He was a grain and hog farmer for 30 years.

Robert married Vickie Misfeldt in 1981. They farmed until 2019. They also enjoyed trips to Florida every 6 months for 19 years. Robert enjoyed farming and dancing. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Isabella Tharsher, Temperance Wells, and Sawyer Wells. Other family members he cherished are Tracy and Devin Wells, George and Rita Herring, and Chris Trisk.
