Robert "Bob" G. Krueger, 83, of Rock Island passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Genesis East, Davenport.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, May 17, 2021, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island with military honors.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Robert was born on February 23, 1938 in Muscatine, IA, the son of Roy and Mildred (Rounds) Krueger.  He married Sandra Lingafelter on December 18, 1965 in Preemption, IL.  Robert was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Franklin Roosevelt.  He worked as a machine repairman for JI Case and Case IH.  He helped drive cars for Erickson Chevrolet to other dealerships.  Robert was highly involved in the Milan Little League and Senior League, and coached 5 state championship teams.  He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls fan.  Robert enjoyed woodworking, bowling, golfing, and landscaping his yard with flowers and plants.  Most of all he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and watching them play sports.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sandra Krueger, Rock Island; daughter, Annette Hillyer, Milan; son, Kevin (Natasha) Krueger, Kingwood, TX; grandchildren, Nicholas, Adam, Evan, and Abigail Hillyer and Tyrus, Nolan, and Tenley Krueger; great grandson, Jackson Hillyer; and sister, Marilyn Beam.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jackie Atkinson, Roland Krueger, and Richard Krueger.
