Bob was born on May 24, 1934, in Parkston, SD, the son of William F. and Bertha M. (Darling) Hart. Bob graduated from Parkston High School in 1953 and became a boiler maker apprentice for the Union Pacific railroad in Cheyenne, WY. In 1954 Bob entered service in the United Sates Army then the Army Reserves; later he was employed by the U.S. Army working in artillery, munitions, and armament material readiness; he retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after 37 years of combined service with perfect attendance. In 1988 Bob graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Liberal Studies. Bob met Agnes M. Aurich while stationed in Sydny, NE. and they married August 19, 1961, in Denver, CO. He later married Nancy J. Murphy on November 10, 1998, on Sanibel Island, FL.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and back packing; he was a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting with friends and family. He was also a member of the Rock Island Arsenal Tae Kwon Do club and earned a black belt. Bob was a previous Master Mason at Philbrook lodge 659 and the Davenport Masonic Lodge 37, also serving with perfect attendance. Bob was a wonderful photographic artist, an avid reader, played guitar, loved his motorcycle, studied financial investment, and dabbled in poetry and winemaking. He loved life and family and enjoyed quoting Bette Davis often "Old age ain't no place for sissies." as Alzheimer's stole more and more of his life away from him.
Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his children, Karen Jackson, Barbara Thibodeau, Rebecca (Jon) Allison, Chris (Lori) Woosley; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Lynda Harrison, and many other family members and friends.
