Robert C. Hayden, 80, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Generations, Rock Island.  Per his wishes, there will be no services.  Cremation rites accorded.  Memorials may be made in care of Niabi Zoo, Coal Valley.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematoy, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Robert was born in Rock Island, on December 8, 1937, a son of Wilbur H. and Audrey F. Davis Hayden.  He married Evelyn Kaye Schwartzkopf in Rock Island with whom he raised nine children with.  They later divorced.

Robert worked on the Rock Island Lines as a young man.  He baked for Harvest Day Bakery in Rock Island for 30 plus years.  He also loved farming and helped on Bud Myers farm in Rock Island for many years.

Robert enjoyed walking and drinking Pepsi.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Joe-Ann Jones, Milan, Jackie Carlson, Davenport, Robert M. Hayden, Rock Island and Joyce Lairmore, Rock Island; Foster children, David, Della, Derrick and DeVon Binion; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joe-Ann Fite, Andalusia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Terri Hayden, three brothers and two sisters.
