Robert E. Huntley, 84, of Orion, died Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be 11 am Friday, April 17, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Visitation will be an hour prior to service time at the church. Inurnment will be at Swedona Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf or to the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion.

Robert was born in Rock Island on August 28, 1930, a son of LeRoy and Norine DeShane Huntley. He married Nancy Castor on August 4, 1956 in Moline. She preceded him in death in 2002. He later married Phyllis Mears on December 27, 2003 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. She preceded him in death in 2014.

Robert worked as an assembler for Eagle Signal for 33 years. He later worked as a deliverer for Bonnett Wholesale Florist and retired in 1995. He also spent 12 years volunteering his time at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island.

Robert was an avid fisherman and gardener.

Survivors include his family, Linda (Rolland) Johnson, James (Annette) Mears, Mary (Roger) Carlson, Robert (Sandy) Gates and Eldon "Curly" Hickson.

He was preceded in death by his wives, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
