Robert E. Lodge, 82, of Sun City Lincoln Hills, Calif., formerly of Rock Island, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Thursday at the Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.  There is no visitation.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.

Robert was born Dec. 22, 1934 in Rock Island, the son of Edgar and Fauna Naber Lodge.    He attended Rock Island Public Schools and graduated from Augustana College in 1956.  His marriage to Gloria ended in divorce.  Rob's entire working career was as a chemist working in the industrial applications of corn.  Following his retirement, he moved to California and married Dianna Steen, who was also from Rock Island.

He enjoyed roller skating, riding his bike and motorcycle and traveling in their R.V.

Survivors include his wife, Dianna; daughter, Heather Anne Yates (Robert); grandchildren, Danielle, Bryan, Zachery and Rebecca; and great grandchildren, Aiden and Ava.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
