Robert L. Vruble, 76, of Taylor Ridge, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 11, 2017 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Taylor Ridge.  Visitation will be from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, with recitation of the rosary at 1 pm.  Burial will be at Andalusia Cemetery, Andalusia.  Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Taylor Ridge or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Robert was born on September 2, 1941 in Jerome, IA, the son of John and Ann (Micetich) Vruble.  He married Sandra Beehler on April 23, 1966 in Davenport, IA.  Robert worked at ALCOA for 41 years, retiring as a Millwright.  He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.  Robert loved to work on his farm, in his garden, and enjoyed fishing in his pond.

Robert is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandy Vruble, Taylor Ridge; children, Thomas (Kim) Vruble, Viola, Timothy (Debra) Vruble, Elgin, IL, Kimberly (Steven) Miller, Heartland, TX, and Jason Vruble, Taylor Ridge; daughter-in-law, Amy (Byron) Doss, Warrior, AL; grandchildren, Brandon Vruble, Jacob Miller, Hannah Vruble, Lukas Miller, Joshua Vruble, and Logan Vruble; and siblings, Jacqueline VerSchoore, Phyllis (Larry) Benac, James Vruble, Shirley Lantz, and Barbara Gabbard.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jeffrey and Bradley Vruble; and sister, Betty Vruble.
