Roberta A. "Serty" Laisner, 94, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday April 26, 2017 at Amber Ridge Memory Center, Moline.

Private services will be at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.

Roberta was born on November 15, 1922 in Beardstown, IL, the daughter of Lloyd and Inez (Showalter) Shafer.  She married Raymond W. Laisner on July 1, 1944 in Rock Island.

Mrs. Laisner had been employed as a bookkeeper with Centennial Bridge Commission for over 15 years, retiring in 1987. Previously she had worked at Reynolds Engineering, Eagles Warehouse and Birtman Electric.

Roberta was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island and was past President of Business and Professional Womens Club. She loved babysitting her grandchildren, reading and playing bridge.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Pam(Danny) Caldwell, East Moline; sons, Ray Laisner, Rock Island, Tim (Carmen) Laisner, Bettendorf, IA; seven grandchildren; 11  great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, Lloyd and Inez; brother, Lloyd "Junior" Shafer, Jr.; sisters, Betty Mell and Kay Nolin.
