Roderick "Rod" Davis, 57, of Blue Grass, Iowa, was welcomed into the loving arms of his Savior on July 14, 2026. He passed surrounded by his family after bravely battling severe complications from pancreatitis.
Rod was born on January 17, 1969 the son of Kenneth and Marian "Kay" (Crull) Davis. He married his high school sweetheart in 1994 and together they built a wonderful life. Their twin sons, Jerod and Noah, became the center of his world - bringing him joy in every season. Rod was also filled with excitement for the coming days - he was thrilled to become a Pop pop this November.
Rod enjoyed running his own business "Covers by Rod" and later served as Vice-President at The Horizon Group, Inc., for a combined 20 years this July. His coworkers will remember him for his great sense of humor and positive attitude. He made a point of connecting personally with every staff member.
Rod will be deeply missed by his wife, Laura; his sons, Noah (Marissa) and Jerod (Raven); his mother, Kay Davis; his brother, Joe (Dottie); and his in-laws, John and Mary Carol Williams, along with many other family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, Kenneth Davis and his brother, James Greg.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held at Calvary Church of the Quad Cities in Moline on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a church service immediately following at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Church of the Quad Cities or Youth Hope.
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." Rev 3:20
