Rodney "Rod" Voss, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, at UnityPoint Health Trinity - Rock Island, at the age of 75. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him, especially his devoted wife, Catherine "Katie" Murphy, whom he married on July 3, 1971, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Edgington, IL. Rodney was born on March 20, 1950, to Gordon and Arlene (VanDettum) Voss. He dedicated his life to his family and his passions, which included farming, antique tractors, and gardening. Known for his ability to fix anything, Rod took great pride in his family, often sharing their achievements and joys with others. He is survived by his beloved wife, Katie; their children, Cheryl (Clifford IV) Bolt and Robert (Jaimie) Voss; grandchildren, Clifford (Amanda) Bolt V, Murphy Bolt (Miguel Sanchez), Matthew (Joselyn) Bolt, Gia Voss, Carter Voss, Audrina Voss, and Alexandra; as well as great-grandchildren, Clifford Bolt VI and Evangeline Bolt. His legacy of love will continue through them. He was preceded in death by his parents. Rodney will be honored with visitation from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory in Milan. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the St. Patrick Campus of the St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 9619 140th St W, Taylor Ridge, IL. Rodney will be laid to rest in Edgington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Andalusia Volunteer Ambulance or the St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish.
