Rodney Wayne Palmer Sr., 69, Moline, IL passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at his home. Celebration of life will be held at a later date. He was born on March 23, 1953 to Donald and Ellen (Hines) Palmer in Rock Island, IL. He grew up in the area and attended Sherrard High School. On September 18, 1976 he was united in marriage to Debbie Van Winkle and they had two children.

Rod worked at Case IH before starting his career as a tree trimmer for Asplund Tree Service where he worked until his retirement.

Model cars were one of Rod's favorite hobbies. But more than anything, he loved being outdoors--whether it be fishing, camping or mushroom hunting. He especially enjoyed spending time by the river.

He is survived by his children, Tony (Hillary Allen) Palmer, Debra (Bryan) Broessel, April (Jason) Atkinson, and Rodney (Amy) Palmer Jr.; siblings, Sandy West, Tammy Durbin, Howie (Kim), Robert (Stacy), Rick (Judy) and Vicki Palmer; grandchildren, Bryce, Emilee, Tomeka, Seth, Chance, Brook, Breanna, Shelby, Taya, Jada, Allison, and Madelyn; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ted, Joe and Donnie Palmer; and an infant brother, Mikey.
