Roger L. DeWitt, 69, of Milan, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at home.
Services, with military honors, will be 12 noon Friday, Feb. 20th at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, those wishing to attend are to meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20th, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be 4 pm to 6 pm Saturday, February 21st at the Moline V.F.W. Post 2153, 1721-7th St., Moline.
Roger was born August 22, 1945 in Laona, WI, a son of James and Mildred Hofledt DeWitt.
He was a welder and fabricator. Roger loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and kayaking.
Survivors include his son, Roger DeWitt II, Milwaukee, WI; sister, Rosemary (Marvin) Skipton, Moline; brothers, James "Jim" DeWitt, Coyne Center, Gerald "Jerry" (Patty) DeWitt, Milan, and David (Suzie) DeWitt, Mesa, AZ; brother -in-law, Rick Dean, Colona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Clarice Nixon and Virginia DeWitt.
