Obituary

Roger E. Taylor, 85, of Milan, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at his residence.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Visitation will be from 3 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the Quad Cities Animal Shelter.

Roger was born July 5, 1929 in Abingdon, IL, the son of Kenneth and Dorothy (Hollopeter) Taylor. He married Delores "Dee" Perkins on November 24, 1969 in Palmyra, MO. Roger worked at IBP as a security officer for 8 1/2 years before his retirement and also worked as a delivery driver for Lennox Photo. He was proud to serve his country in WW2 as part of the United States Army. Roger enjoyed geneology, collecting guns, working on his computer, antiques/collectibles, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Craig Taylor of Milan, Leta (Rick) Anderson of Moline, Rena (Mark) Ready of Lake of the Hills, IL, Jennifer (James) Kundert of Milan, and Amy (Paul) Spence of Rock Island; grandchildren, Brandon Ready, Sean Ready, Emily Anderson, and Alexandrea Hawotte; great-grandchildren, Tyler Spence and Ella Spence; and his loyal best friend Peaches. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Taylor and two sisters, Beverly Coffield and Joyce Kik.
