Rollin W. McAdam, 68, of Coal Valley, passed away surrounded by his children and wife on Monday, January 9, 2023 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island. A funeral service will be 10 am Monday, January 16, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow the funeral service. A private inurnment will take place at Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of Kings Harvest Pet Rescue, Davenport. In true Rollin fashion, casual attire is welcome at all services.
Rollin was born in Rock Island, Illinois on August 30, 1954, a son of Phillip and Eileen Anderson McAdam. He married Tammy Stromer on September 24, 1977 in Rock Island.
Rollin was an operating engineer for 49 years for McAdam, Inc. He was an extremely hard worker, always willing to help anyone in need, and saw the good in people.
Rollin was a member of the Rock Island Conservation Club. He enjoyed camping and throwing a line in the water, occasionally catching a fish. He also enjoyed wheeling and dealing, live music, going to auctions and being a jokester. He also loved spending time with his three grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Tammy McAdam, Coal Valley; children, Elizabeth (Zack) MacKenzie, Iowa City, Iowa, Jenna (Jeff) Adams, Coal Valley and James (Amy Nixon) McAdam, Rock Island; grandchildren, Madalyn MacKenzie and Dean and Diana Adams; brothers, Dave (Jean) McAdam, Rock Island and Randy McAdam, Coal Valley; and his loyal dog, Ellie May.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Phyllis Abney, Brother, Russell McAdam, nephews, Justin Reid, Danney Abney, and Dale Abney and niece, Samantha McAdam.
