IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roma M.
(Kirby) Hauck
October 9, 1936 – November 10, 2020
Roma Marilyn Hauck, 84, of Taylor Ridge, IL passed away on November 10, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date for immediate family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Roma was born to Howard and Florence Kirby in Davenport, IA on October 9, 1936. She graduated from Bettendorf High School. She met her husband, David Hauck, at a roller-skating rink and they were married on June 9, 1956. She was married and dedicated to her husband until his passing in 2007.
Roma will be deeply missed by her children Vicki (John) Mosley of Taylor Ridge, IL and Debbie (Scott) Avey of Tipton, IA; her grandchildren Scott Jr. (Samantha) Avey, Mickaela (Fernando) Jimenez, William Avey, John Jr. (Sydney) Mosley, Nathan Avey, Jacob Mosley, and Sophia Mosley; her great grandchildren Mila and Gracie Avey and Athena Mosley; many nieces and nephews, extended family, and many close friends. A special thanks to great grandson Maddox.
Roma took pride in her family and loved her family with all of her heart. She always made sure her family had everything they needed and some things they wanted. She was her family's Einstein and there was never a problem she couldn't fix. Roma was the definition of love and defined it with everything she did. If anyone came to her with a need, she would meet that need with kindness and generosity. She would often go out of her way to help people and it didn't matter if she knew someone for a few days or several years. Roma had so much love to give and was deeply loved in return. She would love and care for any child as if the child was her own. She brought light and positivity into every life that she touched.
Roma worked 35 years at Wal-Mart and was a very dedicated worker. When she was not working, she enjoyed doing arts and crafts, gardening, travelling, spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren play baseball. Roma was very sharp minded and had a great memory. She liked to play games, play trivia, and even helped complete a 3000-piece puzzle. Roma also enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with family and friends at the casinos.
Roma went through many health obstacles in recent years and showed everyone many miracles of her survival. When she had a massive stroke a few years ago, she was talking to the ceiling and smiling. After her recovery, Roma was asked if she remembered why she was smiling, and she said "Yeah, my mom and sister came to get me and I wasn't ready." Her family finds comfort that she is with Jesus and her loved ones in heaven.
Roma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Malvern, and twin sister, Roberta.
