Minister Ronald A. Allgood, 62, of Rock Island, IL was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 10 am at Progressive Baptist Church, Davenport, IA, and can be viewed via livestream at https://vimeo.com/650863187. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, can be viewed via livestream at https://vimeo.com/652227770 around 12:30 pm. Memorials may be made to the family or Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Ron was born on January 13, 1959 in Akron, OH, the son of Kenneth and Peggy (Roberts) Allgood. He attended Butchel High School where he loved to play basketball and run track. After high school, he attended Kent State University after which he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he proudly served for seven years. Ron worked for many years as a car salesman where he enjoyed meeting new people every day. Becoming a minister at Progressive Baptist Church gave him happiness as his faith was at the head of his life. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, fisherman, and enjoyed luxury cars. The only thing he loved more than fishing was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his wife Jackie Allgood; his brother Kenneth (Michelle) Allgood and sister Valerie (Albert) Allgood-Smith; children, Ronald (Terra) Allgood Jr., Brian Chance, Charles Allgood, Jasmine (Omar) Allgood-Ward, Candice (Lawrence) Manson, Ronson Allgood, Shaneeka (Alex) Filippi, and DJ Baker; 20 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bernard Allgood.
