Ronald F. Brown, 80, of Moline, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Saturday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley. Visitation is 9:30 am until service time Saturday at the church. Private burial will be Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church or to the Coal Valley Food Pantry.
Ronald F. Brown was born March 14, 1935 at home in rural Viola, the son of Orville F. and Ellen C. Sundvall Brown. He married Patsy Dunlap on Sept. 16, 1955 in Milan. She died Jan. 4, 2003. He married Patti Jo Licata Wiedner on Aug. 21, 2010 in Coal Valley.
Ron graduated from Sherrard High School. He retired from Montgomery Elevator, where he had worked for 35 years.
He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley. Ron enjoyed traveling, taking day trips and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Patti Jo; children, Jeff (Michelle) Brown, Juneau, Alaska, Brenda Carver, Milan, David (Dale) Brown, Cartersville, Ga., and Angela (Chris) Brown, Cartersville; stepsons, Timothy Wiedner, Moline and John Wiedner, of California; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (Gary) Barton, Alpha; brothers, Terry (Peg) Brown, Coal Valley and Doug (Betty) Brown, Covington, Ga.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Patsy; and a sister, Nancy Dunlap.
