Ronald "Ron" F. Schaecher, 80, Rock Island passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 am on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, with a graveside service to follow at Calvary Mausoleum in Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of Alleman Catholic High School, Rock Island.

Ron was born on May 11, 1943 in Rock Island, IL, a son of Joseph H. Sr. and Libbie (Habr) Schaecher. He graduated from Alleman High School in Rock Island. He later went on to serve in the United States Air Force for four years. After the service, Ron went on to receive his degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Ron spent his entire career working in Planning and Development for the City of Rock Island before retiring.

Ron's hobbies included music and woodworking. He would often be found in his workshop working on his latest creation.

Those left to cherish Ron's memory include his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Van Thompson, East Moline.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph Schaecher Jr.
