Ronald Earl Gordon, 74, of Moline, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at his home. Graveside services for Ron will be 10 am, Friday at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be conducted. Those wishing to attend the graveside services should meet at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Rock Island at 9:30 am, Friday. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm, Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Ronald was born on March 2, 1941 in Rock Island, a son of Raymond and Lois Beede Gordon. He married Charlotte Crompton on September 3, 1961 in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on August 24, 2006.

Ronald graduated from Moline High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1961. He later worked for the Rock Island Lines and retired from John Deere Seeding, Moline in 2003 after 38 years. Ron was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was raised on the Rock River and knew it like the back of his hand. He enjoyed spending time with his family and spending time on his porch watching the river, ducks and geese.

Survivors include his children, Tari (Andrew) Nevener, Rock Island, Tony (Izumi) Harahi-Gordon, Moline and James Gordon, Moline; grandchildren, Ron (Alisha) Gordon, Raynn Oechsner, Tessa Gordon and Ryder Gordon; brother, David (Norma) Gordon; and special friend, Shirley Seaton, Davenport.
