Ronald Harold Harris, 92, Milan, IL passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Promedica Moline. The family will be having a memorial Mass at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 9, 2022 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Private interment at the Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials preferred to the University of Iowa Children's Hospital.

Ron was born on May 5, 1930 to Arthur and Lola (Mullen) Harris in Mitchell, SD. He grew up in South Dakota earning a Bachelor's of Science Degree and graduating from ROTC from the University of South Dakota. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956 when he was honorably discharged.

Ron worked as an engineer for Stanley Consultants in Muscatine. He owned and operated Thomas Paint for a time. Ron was a manager of Scott County Farm Bureau Insurance and owned and operated several insurance companies over the years. In addition, Ron farmed in the South Dakota area.

On January 5, 1952 Ron was united in marriage to Joan Miller in South Dakota. The couple had one daughter, Jean Anne.

Ron and Joan loved to dance and were members of the 24 Dance Club through the Viking Club. They were also members of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Milan and Ron was involved in the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Joan; daughter, Jean Anne (Stephen) Nau; grandchildren, Jason (Bobbi) Nau and Danielle (Greg) Hansen; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, and Lauren Marie Nau; Jacksen and Lucas Hansen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Merrill and Gordon Harris.
