Ronald A. Nelson, 68, of Freeport, Il, passed away Sunday December 11, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10am to service time at the funeral home. Rev. Dan Cullett with Edgewood Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Ronald was born on September 6, 1948 in Princeton, IL, the son of Russell and Dorothy (Desramoudt)  Nelson. He married Deanna Rombout on July 12, 1975 in Moline. Mr. Nelson had been employed at Monroe Center Hospital, Monroe, WI, as a physical therapist. He retired in 2007. Ronald was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church, Freeport. He is survived by his wife, Deanna; mother, Dorothy Nelson, Rock Island; his dog and best friend, Pugsley. Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Russell; brother, Scott R.
