IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald G
Roberts
February 27, 1966 – November 30, 2025
Ronald G. Roberts, 59, of the Quad Cities, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Aledo Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Memorials may be left in care of the family.
A devoted family man, Ron was an avid outdoorsman, a proud "girl dad," a loyal dog dad, and above all, a deeply dedicated grandfather. For many years he owned and operated his own maintenance and lawn-care businesses, work that gave him the flexibility to be present for every moment that mattered—especially countless softball games, from his daughters' childhood through their adulthood.
He also spent many seasons on the pit crew for Roberts Racing, where the team earned numerous championships. He cherished the thrill of race nights and the lifelong friendships formed in the pits.
One of his greatest personal achievements was reaching 20 years of sobriety, a milestone that reflected his resilience, determination, and tremendous inner strength.
Ron is survived by his wife of 40 years, Wanda Gayle Roberts; his daughters, Amanda (Jason) Peterson and Ashley (Shawn) Thurman; and his beloved grandchildren, Chloe ("Baby G"), Björn ("Nugget"), and Thora ("Peanut"), all of the Quad Cities. He is also survived by his step-grandson, Nicholas, of Maryland; his sister, Tammy (Kenneth) Havemann; his three nephews; 4 great nephews and 2 great nieces, also of the quad cities; his cherished dog, Lilly Ann "Munster", who never left his side; and best friend of over 50 years, Jim Westmorland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Nancy Roberts, and his sister, Judy.
Ron will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his work ethic, and his quiet strength. He often found joy in the outdoors, particularly at the racetrack and with his family, especially his grandchildren. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Online condolences may be left for the family at www.wheelanpressly.com.
