Ronald D. Schmidt, 73, of Moline, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday June 17, 2024, at Rock Island National Cemetery. Military honors will be performed at the cemetery. Those wishing to attend services will meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, at 10:15 am to join the procession to the cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Ronald was born January 8, 1951, in Rock Island, to Roy and Laura (Beamon) Schmidt. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war from 1968 to 1969. He later worked at the family car wash in Rock Island. Ronald married Randi Daly on October 7, 1995, in Davenport. He enjoyed camping.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Randi; children; Jeremy, Patrick, Ronnie, Jamie (Gena), and Jason; grandchildren, Tyler (Andrea), Caden, Karli, Michel (Jordan), Colton; great-grandchildren, Luna, Mary Jane, and Marnie Rose.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roy.
