Ronald A. Sivill, 99, Rock Island, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Silver Cross.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 am on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Inurnment will follow at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Moline American Legion Post #246, Grace Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, or the Christian Care Food Distribution Center.
Ronald was born on July 12, 1923 in Paxton, IL, the son of Floyd and Edna (Swanson) Sivill. He married Donna Townsend on November 4, 1950 in Rock Island. He retired from International Harvester, and was very active in the UAW Local 281. Ronald was a proud veteran serving in the US Army. He served in WWII on the Marshall Island on Kwajalein Atoll, where he was wounded and received a purple heart. Ronald had the honor of being part of the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
Ronald was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and the Moline American Legion Post #246. He enjoyed spending time with family, camping, fishing, traveling, walking, square dancing, western movies, bargains, and reading.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 72 years, Donna Sivill; children, Kathy (Rick Schloemer) Sivill, Mark (Susie) Sivill, David Sivill, Tom (Karrie) Sivill, and John (Teri) Sivill; grandchildren, Adam (Tara) Bickle, Alex Bickle, Anna (Alex Totoiu) Sivill; Michael (Travis Nelson) Sivill, Elizabeth (Aaron) Hoscheid; Smantha (Ridge Ness) Sivill, Stacy (Nate) Harroun, Andrew (Kianna) Sivill, Kevin (Adrea) Sivill, and Eric (fiancé, Aubrey Harrold) Sivill; great grandchildren, Maxton, Greta, Theo, Hendrix, Cora, Evelyn, Ella, and one on the way; brother, Paul Sivill; and step-sister, Alva Richards. Preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Henry Swick; sister-in-law, Nancy Sivill; and step-sister, Barbara Yancy.
