Ronald E. Slater, 51, of Rock Island, died Thursday, August 11, 2016 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.  Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Ronald was born in Chicago on January 27, 1965, a son of Willie Scott and Emma Slater.

Ronald worked for Brandt Construction Company in Milan for the last 11 years.

He loved spending time with his daughters, sisters, fiancé, granddaughter and the rest of his family and friends.  He enjoyed playing darts and cards.  Ronald was a hard worker.  He was always the life of the party.  He also enjoyed loud music and having nice things.

Survivors include his fiancé, Felicia Benn, Rock Island; daughters, DeShauna McLemore, Roneisha Slater and Aneisa Pettigrew, all of Rock Island; granddaughter, Jamyia McLemore; and sisters, Tonelia Slater, Moline, Jacquelyn Slater, Chicago, Nadine Taylor, Rock Island and Robin Slater-Beamon, Clarksville, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Freeman Slater.
