Ronald V. Tacey, 75, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday July 15, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-6:00pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory Rock Island. A service celebrating Ronald's life will be held 11:00am Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in Rock Island National Cemetery, with Military Honors by VVA Chapter 299. Memorial donations may be left to the Rock Island Police Benevolent Fund.

Ronald was born on August 17, 1947 in Rock Island, the son of Vincent and Ruth (Ahrens) Tacey. He married Linda McWilliams on November 29, 1969, while stationed in Leavenworth, Kansas. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam.

Mr. Tacey had served as a Police Officer, detective and later Sergeant for over 30 years with the City of Rock Island, retiring in 2002.

Ronald loved spending time with his family and friends, going to the casinos and family gatherings.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Tacey; children, Ronald (Lindsay) Tacey Jr., Rock Island, Michael (Jenn) Tacey, Moline, Tammy (Jamie) Hogren, Reynolds; grandchildren, Chloie, Evelyn, Austin (Brittani) and Reese; great grandson, Grayson; siblings, Sharon (Bill) Bragg, Edgington, Luanne Morgan, Davenport, Lorie (Pat) Cleary, Moline; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a infant sister, Sandy Tacey.
