Ronnie D. Hammitt, 66, of Taylor Ridge, passed away Friday August 19, 2016 at his home.

A memorial service held at 12:00pm Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Visitation will be from 10:00am to service time at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family.

Ronnie was born on June 9, 1950 in Moline, the son of Norman and Fern Hammitt. He married Pamela Mueller on July 22, 1995.

Mr. Hammitt has been employed at Rockridge School District as a bus driver for over 26 years.

Ronnie loved his family, especially his granchildren and great granddaughter.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles and horses, watching old westerns and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Pam; children, Thore (Sarah) Hammitt, Wendy Blair (Steve Peterson); grandchildren, Taylor (Allie) Petersen, Bradley Hammitt; great granddaughter, Chloe Petersen; siblings, Deanna McDonough, Mike Hammitt and Mert Hammitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Shawn Blair and sister, Norma.
