Rosemary Overton, of Moline, passed away Monday February 20, 2023, at the age of 92.

She was born on March 15, 1930, in Carlyle, Illinois, the daughter of Frank H. and Minnie (Meier) Lyman. She married her beloved husband, Herbert E. Overton on December 1, 1951, in Carlyle, Illinois.

Throughout her life, Rosemary- or Rosie, as she was known to her friends, was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed gardening, decorating, and listening to music. Being a grandparent was one of her greatest joys.

Mrs. Overton was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline, and TOPS where she had been an active member.

Survivors include her daughters, Victoria Overton, Moline, Melissa Overton, Pineville, North Carolina; granddaughter, Adrienne (Calvin) Clay, McKinney, Texas; great- grandchildren, Jadin and Quinton, both of McKinney, Texas; several nieces, nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; her parents; and siblings, Curly Lyman, Mary Ann Donoho, Shirley Merrell, Joe Lyman, Fred Lyman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday February 28, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  The visitation will be 10:00am-11:00am Tuesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.
