Obituary
Ruby C. Veasey, 66, of Rock Island, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until service time. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.
Ruby was born on November 21, 1949 in Memphis, TN, the daughter of Robert Sr. and Gracie Pauline (Harris) Barnett. She married James E. Veasey Sr. on August 16, 1969 in Rock Island. Ruby was employed at the Seaford Clothing Co. in Rock Island.
Ruby is survived by her husband of 46 years, James E. Veasey, Sr.; sons, James (Carla) E. Veasey Jr. and Titito (Jackie) D. Veasey; grandchildren, Jahni, Jada, Zoe, and Jayden; and 15 brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Terry and Anthony Barnett and Kimmit Gibson.
