Ruby M. Stearns , 90, of Rock Island, IL, passed away Saturday May 14, 2022 at her home.

Funeral and live-streamed services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island. (Live-streamed funeral service may be viewed at wheelanpressly.com/live stream Rock Island.) Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to UnityPoint Hospice.

Ruby was born August 14, 1931 in Pierson, Iowa, a daughter of Martin and Mary (Crane) Stearns.

She was employed with Spickler Bookkeeping and continued with Hammar & Associates, Rock Island, until she retired in 2001 after 49 plus years of service.

Ruby attended non-denominational fellowship meetings. She enjoyed puzzles, games, and traveling with family. She is fondly remembered as "Aunt Ruby" by many.

Those left to cherish her memory are her great niece, Ashlee Topinka, whom was her caretaker for the last twelve years; and many additional nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and their families; and many friends, including close friend and puzzle partner, Donna Gauf.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; sisters (and brothers-in-law), Norma (Wendell) Huisman Hunt and Violet (Delbert) Kirschenman; brother (and sister-in-law), Lyle D. (Ruth) Stearns; nieces, Wanda Huisman, Elaine Topinka, and Hope Morrison; nephews, Ken Kirschenman and Marty Stearns; and great niece, Angie Goyette.
