Obituary
Rudolph Applegate, 76, of Rock Island, passed away Friday March 21, 2014 at ManorCare Health Services, Davenport.Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.
Rudolph was born on July 17, 1937 in Baxter, AR, the son of Gabriel and Ardell (Robertson) Applegate. He was a US Navy Veteran.
He had been worked for TNT Holland Roadway as a truck driver.
Survivors include his children, Otis Applegate, Willie Applegate, Flossie McDaniel, Yvonne McDaniel, Dennis Applegate; 26 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Shirbie Orr, Jerley Shelton, Joyce Butler, Shirley Scott, Nawasa Campbell, Tony Robinson, Doyle Robertson; special friend, Kathy Workman; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Rudolph Applegate Jr. and Richard Applegate.
