Obituary

Russ McConnaha, 65, of Milan, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be held Friday from 4-7:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan, IL. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the funeral home, followed by a lunch at Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Kline Cemetery, Moscow, Iowa. Memorials may be left to Kline Cemetery or Moscow Iowa Church.

Russ was born on October 13, 1960 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Grant and Mardell (Bohnsack) McConnaha. He graduated from Wilton High School.

On September 21, 2007 he became the trophy husband of Renae Rursch.

Mr. McConnaha had been employed at JBS USA as a cattle buyer.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Russ enjoyed attending their games, horse and cattle shows. He frequently attended produce auctions and loved sharing his finds with family and friends and teaching the kids how to be entrepreneurs. He also enjoyed visiting with their great neighbors.

Survivors include his wife, Renae; children, Bill (Angie) McConnaha, Amy McConnaha; mother, Mardell McConnaha; grandchildren, Addyson Lehman, Perry Lehman, Kenley Kirchner, Miles McConnaha, Quinlyn McConnaha, Claire McConnaha; siblings, Ron (Jodi) McConnaha, Doug (Steph Ayers) McConnaha, Rebecca (Bradd) Hahn; sisters-in-law, Rita Maynard and Renita Gregory; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father, Grant and son, Mike McConnaha; brothers-in-law, Paul Gregory and Scott Maynard.
