Ruthann Kerr, 95, Rock Island, IL passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 at New Perspectives Senior Living in Silvis, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to QC Paws.

Ruthann was born December 13, 1928 to Homer and Alma (Jack) Lefler in Macomb, IL. She grew up in Moline and graduating high school in the class of 1946. She worked briefly for Bell Telephone and the Rock Island Argus.

On August 23, 1947 she was united in marriage to Richard Kerr at South Park Presbyterian Church. The couple made their home in Rock Island where they raised their three sons. For many years, the family spent weekends at their cabin on Lake Warren where Ruthann enjoyed fishing and swimming.

Ruthann was a dedicated homemaker who always had a spotless house and a well-manicured lawn she was mowing until she was 88. She also loved tending to her flowers and vegetables in her garden. Ruthann was an avid bingo player, spending many nights at the Lion's club. She and her husband liked bowling together as well.  Ruthann's favorite thing to do was spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, Jim (Caroline) Kerr, Jeff (Merry) Kerr, Steve (Cindy McDanel) Kerr; grandchildren, Aaron (Tabitha Sherrick) Kerr, Sean Kerr, Josh (Amy) Kerr, Alycia (Nate) Fritz, Ericka (Dustin) Hird, Amanda (Aaron) Dacon; and great-grandchildren, Ryder Kerr, Jaxon Kerr, Kolsen Kerr, Tristen and Braedan Covington; and Eddie Fritz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and sisters, Marge DeMeyer and Hannah "Cookie" Plummer.
