Sandra "Sandy" E. Spencer, 66, of Milan passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021 at home.

A private family graveside will be held later this week. Inurnment will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline.

Sandy was born on October 13, 1955 in Ottumwa, Iowa, a daughter of LeRoy and Martha (Wheaton) Williams. She was married to Robert "Bob Homer" Spencer for 28 years and he preceded her in death. She has spent the last 8 years with her life partner/companion, Larry Wignat, who has been her caretaker for the last 4 years.

Sandy was a devoted mother/grandmother to her "family of eight", plus those who crossed her path. She always had an open door policy and would often lend a seat on the front porch to anyone who needed a lending ear. She loved all animals, especially dogs, and never met a stranger. She loved her family unconditionally. Nothing made her happier than taking her grandsons swimming and "Sunday Funday" dinners with her family.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Randa (Joe) Goldbeck, Eldridge, Dennis Hoppe, Coal Valley and Gerald "Steve" (Sommer) Hoppe, Orion; stepsons, Andrew "Andy" (Barb) Spencer and Dale (Tracie) Spencer; grandsons, Ryan and Zach Ryckeghem, Blake Hoppe and Jacob Brackett; and life partner/companion, Larry Wigant and his two sons, Richie and Robbie.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents.
