Sandra J. Ellis, 75, of Milan, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the Rock Island National Cemetery.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Quad-City Animal Welfare Center.

Sandra was born on December 8, 1946 in Peoria, a daughter of Bernard and Hazel (Parker) Bradley. She married William Ellis on September 14, 1966 in Peoria. She graduated from Bradley University in 1968 and earned her Masters in Education and Leadership from Saint Xavier University in 1999. Mrs. Ellis was a school teacher for 39 years and taught in the Rock Island/Milan School District for 28 years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. In retirement, she was active in Alpha Delta Kappa, an International Honorary Organization for Women Educators.

Sandra enjoyed gardening, knitting, quilting, and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband, William; children, W. Bradley (Patricia) Ellis, Milan and Amanda Ellis, Davenport; grandchildren, Derek Ellis, Dayton Ellis, Riley Ellis and Maddyson Ellis.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Beverly West.
